About Us

SingingTune is co-owned by business partners Emma Gordon and Sian Pearce. They have had many years of experience of running a singing business, giving individual vocal tuition, teaching in musical theatre schools, giving vocal teambuilding workshops and musical direction of choirs.

Emma Gordon runs the management side of the business, from the accounts, to the administration, through to liasing with clients. Sian Pearce adds the musical element to the business. Here’s a little about them as individuals:-

Sian Pearce
Sian Pearce

Sian Pearce has had a lifetime's involvement in music; whether through the medium of live performance or teaching. She is no stranger to the spotlight as she has performed on TV and Radio, and toured extensively around the world, performing as a soloist, chorister and conductor; to audiences from a few through to many thousands. Born and raised in the Welsh valleys, choral singing has been Sian's passion from an early age. There has never been a time when she has not been involved, in one way or another with a choir. At 16 she was a member of the National Chorus of Wales, gaining an interest in choral conducting by singing under the baton of such prestigious conductors as Sir Neville Mariner and Andrew Davies.

Sian gained her vocal training by studying classical singing and flute at Trinity College of Music, London studying under the great James Gaddarn. Following her studies, Sian went on to perform extensively as a Classical Solo Singer, but was also invited to share her talents with others. She became the Community Musician for the Penrhys Estate, Rhondda where she set up Youth and Adult Choirs, and Rock Bands. She also helped in the design and development of the building of a new Art Centre and Recording Studio which now brings quality musicians to a once deprived community.

Nowadays, Sian is more interested in the teaching and directing of singers. She currently has over 40 individual singing pupils, and is the recognised singing teacher in South West Wales for the government initiative New Deal for Musicians, and shares her vocal expertise with various Musical Theatre Arts Schools.

From August 2004 until June 2007, Sian was the 1st female Musical Director of The Morriston Orpheus Male Voice Choir, conducting them in over 77 engagements, including performances at Wales’ Millennium Centre & Sydney Opera House. She also toured Australia, New Zealand & Dubai and made a CD recording with The Orpheus.

Since leaving the choir, Sian has been working with the Morriston Phoenix Choir, an exciting new choir formed from a break-away movement from the Orpheus.

She is the current Musical Director of this growing choir, and they are already building a considerable reputation based on the experience and talent of the increasing members.

Emma Gordon
Emma Gordon

Emma Gordon has been running her own successful company over the last 7 years, owning a singing tuition business. Her role entails taking daily charge of the financial and administrative side of the business. This includes the advertising and promotion of the company, all accounts and financial aspects, dealing with enquiries and handling of clients, co-ordinating with local press, and the time management of a fully working timetable.

She gained this ability through her previous employment in the banking and retail management world. Working within a bank, Emma learned how to ‘balance the books’, liaise with other departments and handle clients.

Being the Manager of a retail business gave Emma the skills of negotiation of contracts, dealing with the day-to-day money transactions, liasing with subcontractors and managing, co-ordinating and motivating a staff team.

Whilst within these organisations, Emma attended many teambuilding events, and was struck with the lack of non-activity based workshops. Thus inspiring her to devise an alternative - which came to fruition when she joined forces with a musician. SingingTune was born!

In addition to her SingingTune commitments, Emma is the current Promotions officer with the recently formed Morriston Phoenix Choir.
